A workplace that has safety consistently integrated into all business practices and where all employees proudly demonstrate their ownership and commitment to a safe and healthy workplace.
Goals:
- Minimise the number of LTI’s recorded to zero
- Actively encourage and involve all employees in safety decision making
- Provide the healthiest and safest workplace as far as practicable
- Ensure that safety in the workplace is of the highest value and is not compromised
- That all hazards are identified and managed before they may cause an incident or injury,
- Employees and leaders are aware of the hazards and risks in the workplace and act accordingly,
- All employees have pride in our safety record
- Skills to work and manage safely are provided effectively
- Repeat incidents are eliminated entirely
- Effective safety leadership is a pre-requisite for promotion and these leaders become safety role models.
- Facilitate a culture where individuals accept responsibility for theirs, and others, safety.
Objectives and strategies
- Risk assessments are to be conducted on all tasks before implantation
- Develop and maintain a safety hazard reporting system
- Conduct JSA’s for all new tasks or tasks in which a significant variable has changed,
- Develop and implement safer work instructions for all routine jobs
- Actions resulting from hazard and incident reports are to be completed promptly and with adequate resources
- All hazards will be recorded and all staff informed of new hazards as they arise,
- Improve training for safety and job knowledge
- Conduct training needs assessments
- Develop and maintain job training programs
- Develop and maintain an effective system for disseminating safety updates,
- Improve communication at all business levels,
- Improve the site safety culture
- Regular site safety audits
- Ongoing, regular measurements of employees OHS issues
- All employees to continually re-enforce that OH&S is the number one company priority.
In addition, Borehole Wireline will implement and maintain a health surveillance monitoring program to monitor the ongoing health of all field employees, including radiation exposure monitoring.
